926th Wing with 2 OGs activated at Nellis, Creech
The 926th Group’s guidon is furled, before it is cased, as the Wing guidon is unfurled and brought into service during the 926th Wing activation ceremony Dec. 5, 2014, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The redesignation ceremony took place before a crowd of total force Airmen who trace their wing’s roots back to 1963 when the 926th Troop Carrier Group was established at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, La., where they flew the C-119 Flying Box Car.
