926th Group answers call for help Published Jan. 25, 2011 By Capt. Jessica Martin 926th Group public affairs NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Members of the 926th Group spent the holidays helping those in need. The idea for a shoe collection came from a 926th GP spouse who works at an elementary school in the Las Vegas Valley. In all, 156 pairs were donated to be sent to Afghanistan citizens. Tech. Sgt. Amy Bailey, 926th Force Support Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of family readiness, helped facilitate the process by contacting Soles4Souls. "We were very excited to partner on this project," Sergeant Bailey said. "I'm glad the 926th had the opportunity to be involved with this worthy cause." Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing for those in desperate need of footwear, handled the logistics of delivering the shoes. The program originated in the wake of the 2004 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia.
