A member of the 926th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was presented with the maintenance world's highest honor April 2.

Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Jundt, avionics craftsman, was distinguished as the Lieutenant General Leo Marquez Award 's Outstanding Technician Supervisor of 2010 for 10th Air Force during a commander's call here.

"I am honored and privileged to be recognized for this award," said Sergeant Jundt. "Our expertise and professionalism are recognized by the active duty on a daily basis, and I'm proud to be part of an elite team of highly-qualified and responsible maintainers."

Sergeant Jundt is a full-time reservist integrated into the active duty's 57th Maintenance Group here, working on F-16 aircraft. He secured the award by aiding the 57th Wing in generating more than 4,000 sorties, the most in Air Combat Command, and surpassing multiple ACC maintenance performance indicator standards. Additionally, he assisted in recovering 13 aircraft contaminated by a sandstorm, with zero lost sorties. Sergeant Jundt's attention to detail maintained mission capable rates far above command standards, and his expertise in software capability upgrades minimized aircraft modification downtime by 33 percent.

"There's a reason why Sergeant Jundt was selected to become a founding cadre member of the 926th AMXS, culminating to winning the 10th Air Force Leo Marquez Award," said Maj. Michael Egbalic, 926th AMXS commander. "His strong work ethic, vast F-16 experience and ability to motivate and mentor younger Airmen are some of his strongest attributes. It is because of Sergeant Jundt, and Airmen like him, that Total Force Integration is a success here at Nellis."

Through TFI, the 926th AMXS provides additional manpower, expertise and continuity to the 57th MXG.

Before joining the 926th GP in October 2006, Sergeant Jundt served nine years on active duty, stationed at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., Kunsan Air Base, Korea, and at Nellis with the United States Aerial Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds. In addition to F-16s, he has experience on F-22 Raptor, MQ-1 Predator and CV-22 Osprey aircraft. Sergeant Jundt goes on to compete at the Air Force Reserve Command level.
