926th FSS welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Connie Alge assumed command of the 926th Force Support Squadron during a ceremony here Sept. 7.

As commander, Alge is responsible for mission support to include organizing, training, and readiness of more than 60 force support, security forces, communications, civil engineer explosive ordnance disposal, logistics, and supply unit reservists to support total force integration efforts and global taskings.

Alge earned her commission from the Officers Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, in May 1987. Before joining the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1999, she served with the Regular Air Force as an auditor with the Air Force Audit Agency, Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., and the Vehicle Operations Officer at the 437th Transportation Squadron, Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.

Additionally, she volunteered at the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center, assisting in the preparation of deceased military members from the terrorist attacks on the USS Cole, the Pentagon, and Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.

Prior to her assignment to the 926th FSS, Alge earned selection to and attended in-residence Senior Developmental Education at the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
