Families from the 926th Wing received catered meals from the USO, in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 7 and 9, 2020.

Fifty-nine meals were delivered directly to the address provided by the family members during initial outreach from the USO.

While the 926 WG was the first to receive these meals, they will not be the last.

“The 926 WG was our first choice this month as we realize by having civilian careers, they may have been hit harder than active duty service members during the COVID-19 outbreak,” said Sara Bell, USO center operations and programs manager. “Next month we are going to focus on families of deployed Airmen.”

The meals were a welcome treat for the members who participated.

“In a time like this, it was such a blessing to get a knock on the door and receive the most delicious cordon blue with a side of mouthwatering pasta and sauce on the side,” said Master Sgt. Shannon York, 555th Red Horse Squadron. “To top it off, we even had a huge homemade cookie for dessert. My family felt so spoiled.”
