2016 Reserve Officers Association Outstanding Jr. Officer of the Year

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. --

The 2016 nominee for the Reserve Officers Association Outstanding Junior Officer of the Year is Capt. Christopher Barnes from the 26th Space Aggressor Squadron, Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. 

Barnes is the Chief of Training for the 26th SAS where he leads a 13-person team of Regular Air Force, Reserve and civilian instructors.

He received this award for developing a strategy to rebuild the unit’s weapons and tactics, training, and evaluation programs, and enabling the delivery of 11,000 training hours to more than 6,000 personnel in 32 United States Air Force Weapons School, RED FLAG, Combatant Commander, and sister service operations exercises, among many other accomplishments.

The RAO recognizes invaluable members of the community who have made significant contributions to the success of their unit and the Air Force Reserve mission.
