Combat Shield tests aircraft defense line
Staff Sgt. Ed Youmans, 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron, demonstrates a procedure on the USM 642 "Raven" signal generator - a machine that simulates any real world radar emitter and allows the Combat Shield team to assess aircraft's response to those signals. The Combat Shield unit is tasked with testing the air defense systems of all A-10s, F-15s, F-16s, HH-60s and C-130s in the Air Force inventory. U.S. Air Force photo.
