Nevada's first U.S. Air Force Reserve Recruiting station has an open house scheduled for July 11 at their Craig Road location in North Las Vegas.

The public event, held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes a chance to see the facility and talk to recruiters and Nellis Air Force Base reservists, as well as a live radio broadcast and complimentary refreshments.

The necessity for a recruiting office was realized as the Reserve presence in Las Vegas has grown significantly, with the activation of the 926th Group, 2nd Special Operations Squadron and 555th Red Horse Squadron at Nellis.

The office has five recruiters available on a regular basis, geared toward assisting both prior military personnel and those who have never been in the service before.

"We're very excited about growing the U.S. Air Force Reserve," said Master Sgt. Vivian Whitlow, Assistant Senior Recruiter. "We look forward to working with those individuals interested in serving our nation in either a part-time or full-time capacity."

The open house will be held at 445 West Craig Road, Suite 116. For more information about the event or to speak to a recruiter, call (702) 281-7905.
