Q. Where are you from?

A. My name is Chaplain Donald Chaney, and I'm originally from Sumter, South Carolina.

Q. What is your background?

A. I was an engineer in the active Navy and Navy Reserve for seven years, and in the Army National Guard in signal communications for three years before joining the Air Force Reserve in 1999.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Limestone College, Gaffney, South Carolina, and a Master of Divinity degree from Erskine Theological Seminary, Due West, South Carolina.

Q. What do you do when you're not at the 926th Group?

A. As a traditional reservist, I also am the pastor of Second Baptist Church of Las Vegas.

Q. What services do you provide the 926th Group?

A. My responsibilities include providing our personnel with ministry of their own faith group and ensuring everyone is able to exercise their religious freedoms. I provide spiritual guidance and counseling for all members, participate in prayer and devotionals with them, and conduct visitations. I also collaborate with the Regular Air Force to provide our personnel with chaplains of their same faith to talk to if needed.
